Centrifugal extractor is an extraction equipment, which is a liquid-liquid extraction and separation equipment, mainly used for mixing, mass transfer, reaction, extraction, washing and separation of two-phase liquids. Working Principle Of Centrifugal Extractor

Centrifugal force allows two immiscible liquids of different densities to transfer mass and separate. Extraction mainly includes two processes:

Mixed mass transfer process

The light and heavy liquids are put into the extractor in a certain proportion. In the annular gap between the drum and the shell, the two phases are quickly mixed and dispersed with the help of the rotation of the drum, achieving sufficient mass transfer and completing the mixing and mass transfer process.

Two phase separation process

Under the action of centrifugal force, the heavy phase liquid with a higher specific gravity gradually moves away from the center of the drum and toward the drum wall during the upward flow; the light phase liquid with a lower specific gravity gradually moves away from the drum wall and toward the center. The clarified two-phase liquids finally enter the collection chamber through their respective weir plates and are led out of the machine by the guide pipes, completing the two-phase separation process.
