Lithium battery is a type of battery that uses lithium metal or lithium alloy as positive/negative electrode material and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Currently, the most commonly used lithium batteries are ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries. Among them, ternary lithium batteries have a higher energy density but poorer safety. The energy density of lithium iron phosphate batteries is lower than that of ternary lithium batteries, but they are safer, more stable and have lower costs.

When recycling waste lithium batteries, the most valuable thing is to recycle metal materials such as cobalt, nickel, manganese, lithium, iron, and aluminum in the lithium batteries. On the one hand, it can improve the utilization efficiency of resources, and on the other hand, it can reduce heavy metal pollution. Among them, manganese, nickel, cobalt, lithium and other materials are mainly concentrated in the electrode materials of lithium batteries. When recycling these heavy metals, it is necessary to use the electrode materials of waste lithium batteries as raw materials to recycle the heavy metal materials. In the existing technology, when recycling materials, the recovery rate and recovery efficiency are low, which does not meet the needs of modern industry. In order to solve the above problems, the following technical solutions are provided.

Zhengzhou Tiei Extraction has been committed to the research and development and production of liquid-liquid extraction equipment and technology for many years, and has made outstanding achievements in the field of lithium battery recovery and extraction. Zhengzhou Tiei launched the use of solvent extraction to extract metal elements from ternary lithium batteries. The solvent extraction method mainly uses a suitable extractant to extract and recover metal elements in lithium batteries. The specific process is: leaching-impurity removal-extraction-washing-stripping-regeneration.

After the waste lithium batteries are crushed and leached, the metal elements are dissolved into the leachate. After impurities are removed, the pH value is adjusted and a suitable extractant is selected. Currently, the most widely used extraction equipment is the centrifugal extractor. The extractant and the leachate are injected into the centrifugal extractor to extract the metal elements. Then, the washing section, stripping section and regeneration section are carried out to extract the metal elements. The extractant is recycled and reused, thus completing the entire extraction process.

Tiei Extraction has developed a green extraction process based on the new CWL-M extraction equipment. The process has the following characteristics:
1.The extraction equipment occupies a small area and has great processing flexibility.
2.The process is simple and easy to operate.
3.The quality of the stripping solution is stable and can meet different production requirements.
4.The amount of residual aqueous solvent after treatment is small, which can reduce the processing pressure of subsequent stages.
