Sucralose is a strong sweetener, and its sweetness per unit mass is 600-800 times that of sucrose. It is not absorbed by the human body, does not produce calories, tastes similar to sucrose, and has high stability. It is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. However, in the industrial production process of sucralose, the extraction and separation of the intermediate sucrose-6-acetate is a key step. Traditional equipment such as intermittent stirring extraction tanks, mixer settlers and extraction columns are not as good as centrifugal extractors in extraction efficiency and separation effect, and it is difficult to meet the process requirements.

Overview of Sucralose Production Process

The production of sucralose involves multiple steps, among which the synthesis and purification of sucrose-6-acetate are crucial links. The following are two typical production examples.

Example 1: In the reaction, the molar ratio of dibutyltin oxide to sucrose is 1.1:1.0, the temperature is set to 90°C, the reaction time is 6 hours, and the molar ratio of acetic anhydride to sucrose is 1.0:1.0. Under this condition, the yield of sucrose-6-acetate can reach 80.0%.
Example 2: In another set of experiments, the molar ratio of dibutyltin oxide to sucrose is 1.05:1.00, the temperature is 92°C, the reaction time is 3.5 hours, and the molar ratio of acetic anhydride to sucrose is 1.10:1.00. Under this condition, the yield of sucrose-6-acetate is increased to 89.0%.

In these two examples, the synthesis conditions of sucrose-6-acetate are slightly different, but both emphasize the influence of reactant ratio, temperature and time on the final yield. However, no matter which synthesis conditions are adopted, the subsequent extraction and separation steps are the key to ensure product quality and yield.

CWL-M Centrifugal Extractor

Centrifugal extractor is a kind of equipment that uses centrifugal force to separate substances. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industries. Centrifugal extractor plays an important role in the production process of sucralose, which not only improves production efficiency and product quality, but also reduces production costs and environmental impact. The CWL-M series centrifugal extractor developed by Zhengzhou Tiei Extraction has the characteristics of high recovery rate, high purity and low cost. It can carry out continuous centrifugal extraction process and can stably and efficiently meet the needs of large-scale production.

  1. Efficient separation
① The centrifugal extractor uses the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation to achieve efficient two-phase separation in a short time, greatly improving the extraction efficiency.
② The continuous operation mode makes the entire production process smoother, reducing downtime and manual intervention.
  2. High-purity products
① By precisely controlling the extraction conditions, the centrifugal extractor can effectively remove impurities and ensure the high purity of the final product.
② For the purification of sucrose-6-acetate, adding an appropriate amount of cyclohexane as an extractant can further improve the separation effect.
  3. Reduce production costs
① The efficient separation process reduces the use of solvents and reduces production costs.
② The equipment has a compact structure, small footprint, simple maintenance, and reduces long-term operating costs.
  4. Environmentally friendly
① The efficient separation capacity of the centrifugal extractor reduces waste liquid discharge and reduces the impact on the environment.
② By optimizing process parameters, valuable by-products can be recovered to the maximum extent and resource waste can be reduced.
